The Pritzker Family
Jay Pritzker with his sons started the Hyatt Hotel Chain in 1957. The hotel business has certainly proven to be profitable for the family with the current fortune valued at approximately $26.5 billion, shared among 13 family members. Even more impressive is that 11 of those family members are already in the billionaires club. Besides money, the family also has political ties. Penny Pritzker was the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, and J.B. Pritzker co-chaired Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign and was also the Democratic candidate in the 2018 Illinois gubernatorial election.
