The business wasn’t successful, however after many trials and errors, Frank’s son Forrest hit on the golden recipe on how to make malt-flavored nougat. This has become the stable ingredient in all the Milky Way and Snickers bars of today. According to Forbes, the family runs the 6th largest private owned company in the US. By 2015, the company has amassed $33 billion in annual sales. The family fortune, as listed by Forbes, sits at around $78 billion.
