The Koch family currently has about $99 billion in their coffers. This controversial entry on our list is because of Fred C. Koch, the chemical engineer who founded the Koch Industries in 1940. After his death, his two sons, David, who passed away in 2019, and Charles converted the company into one of the largest and most valuable, privately owned company in the world.
