Mickey Rourke’s career started in a Diner back in 1982. However, it was his roles in Angel Heart and 9 1/2 Weeks, approximately 5 years later, which solidified Rourke’s position as a household name. His talent and good looks earned him the title of ’80s heartthrob. Rourke left the screen in 1991 to pursue a career as a boxer (a sport he had loved as a child) – a career that lasted only three years.
