With a style and notoriety for playing the stereotypical “bad boy,” Rupert Everett would earn a BAFTA award in his first role, as Julian Mitchell in Another Country, in which he played an openly gay student in 1930s England. He briefly tried his hand at pop music before returning to acting. For his performance in 1997’s My Best Friend’s Wedding, he received a second BAFTA award as well as a shining Golden Globe.
