When it comes to weightlifting and large athletes, there are plenty of women as well. Holley Mangold was on the U.S. Olympic team in 2012. Weighing 350 pounds, Mangold qualified for the Olympics with a 319.7-pound clean and jerk, 242.5 snatch, and a 562.2 lifting total. She was injured before the Olympics and ultimately placed ninth. There is no doubting her strength though, since she reportedly used her strength to prevent serious car accident injuries. In a 2007 car accident, Mangold saw it coming and pushed the steering wheel away from her. Reportedly, she pushed so hard that it reinforced the strength of the car and prevented her from succumbing to serious injuries.
