Known by his nickname “Monster Mash,” Jamal Mashburn was smart enough to take his enormous wealth earned over the course of his professional NBA career as a small forward and invest it in nearly 100 successful business franchises. He earned an estimated $75 million or more playing basketball for more than 20 years for the Dallas Mavericks, Miami Heat, Charlotte Hornets, and New Orleans Hornets. He invested it into many Outback Steakhouse restaurants, Papa John’s, Dunkin’ Donuts, and car dealerships. He also is a partner in Ol Memorial Stable, co-owned by other notable sports figures. He has also worked as an analyst for ESPN.
