Meet the Women Behind the World’s Richest Men

 

Diana Taylor is the longtime domestic partner of former New York City Mayor and businessman Michael Bloomberg. Her former title was the “de facto First Lady of New York City.” The couple met at a Citizens Budget Commission event in 2000 and have been together ever since. Taylor graduated from Columbia Business School with an MBA. She moved into the public sector as the assistant secretary to then-Governor George Pataki. Under Pataki, she served as the New York State Superintendent of Banks, spearheading the New York State Banking Department, and was the chairwoman of the New York State Banking Board. Taylor serves on several nonprofit and corporate boards, including the New York Women’s Foundation, YMCA of Greater New York, and Sotheby’s.
