I Dream of Jeannie is one of the most popular television shows in history, but it wasn’t exactly a hit when it first aired. It wasn’t until syndication that the show really took off in popularity. During its five-season, 139-episode run, Jeannie didn’t get higher than No. 26 in the Nielsen ratings. Still, the sitcom has endured to this day, no doubt thanks to the hijinks and allure of star Barbara Eden. Eden was twice nominated for Golden Globes for her part on the show, but she had actually found great success in film prior to her role on the popular show. Her first film appearance dated back to 1956, nearly a decade before she started granting wish after wish.
